Guided Writing Retreats
Nestled within a 38-hectare private forest in the foothills of the Pyrenees, our small writing retreat welcomes just five guests at a time for a few unhurried days of reflection, creativity and connection. At a gentle 500 metres above sea level, the air is clear and calm, and the landscape rolls softly — no mountain climbing required, but with staggering vistas to inspire you. Our gentle hills are suitable for all fitness levels, and any walk can be as short as a few metres or as adventurous as you wish.
You’ll stay in our rustic, traditional farmhouse, or a cosy cabin — we have budget friendly twin room options, and private single rooms — each room has a desk, power, comfortable beds and facilities for making tea and coffee. Showers and toilets are shared, just a few steps from your bed.
Meals are all lovingly prepared at home and enjoyed together as a picnic in the forest, or set overlooking the hills, using produce from our forest garden and nearby farms. Expect freshly baked bread, seasonal dishes, and plenty of sweet treats straight from the oven - you'll always have a snack on hand all day long. Evenings are relaxed, with cocktails by the pool, local wines, beers and soft drinks included.
Each day blends guided writing sessions, gentle discussion and time to breathe, walk and write at your own pace. We have two types of retreat - a guided writing retreat, led by bestselling authors each tackling a different genre, or topic.
We keep it simple, comfortable and human, a space to rest, rediscover your words, and enjoy good company under open skies.
We have lots of animal visitors, which you can watch safely from a distance.
The retreat takes place on our peaceful 38-hectare woodland mountainside in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Surrounded by oaks, pines and open meadows, it’s a quiet place designed for thinking and breathing. The landscape is gently rolling — perfect for easy strolls or longer walks if you’d like to stretch your legs.

The Weather
April – June bring fresh green growth, wildflowers and warm, sunny days. Expect daytime temperatures around 20–26°C, cooling comfortably in the evenings. Rain is rare but possible, usually short and gentle.
July – August are our sunniest and warmest months, with daytime highs of 28–33°C and clear blue skies. Perfect for those who love heat, swimming and long, bright evenings.
September – October are beautifully mellow, with temperatures between 22–27°C, golden light, and cooler nights ideal for fireside writing or stargazing.
We recommend choosing your dates according to your preference: spring and autumn for milder weather and quiet reflection, or summer for warmth, swimming and long evenings outdoors. Whatever the season, the forest offers shade, space and the steady rhythm of nature.
Please note that we provide strong fans for every room, however we are completely off-grid, our electricity comes from the sky via our solar panels, and so we don’t have air conditioning outside of the shared living area. If you struggle with high temperatures, consider avoiding the middle of July to early September.
